Section 1

What data we collect

Glancelytics is designed to avoid personal data wherever possible. We track high-level usage statistics about visits to your website so you can understand traffic without profiling individuals.

For each page view, we may process:

  • Page URL and path
  • Referrer URL
  • Browser and device information from the user agent
  • Approximate geographic information derived from IP, if used
  • Timestamp of the visit

We use this information in aggregate to show metrics such as total visitors, unique visitors, top pages, and traffic sources.

Section 2

No cookies and no cross-site tracking

The Glancelytics tracking script is completely cookieless. We do not set or read cookies, and we do not use local storage or similar browser storage to identify visitors.

We do not build browsing profiles across different websites. Each site you track with Glancelytics is isolated, and data from one site is not linked to data from another.

Section 3

IP addresses and anonymization

To calculate unique visitors and detect abuse, Glancelytics may process visitor IP addresses in memory. Instead of storing raw IP addresses, we generate a short daily-rotating hash using:

  • IP address
  • Browser user agent
  • Tracked domain
  • Current date
  • A secret salt value

Only the resulting hash is stored, not the original IP address. This lets us estimate unique visitors for a given day without retaining persistent identifiers or raw network data.

Section 4

Data retention

Retention policies depend on your subscription plan. Free plans may keep data for a limited period, while paid plans can store data longer to power historical reporting.

In all cases, we apply data minimization. We store only the information required to provide the service and delete older or unnecessary data in line with our internal retention rules.

Section 5

Your role as website owner

As a website owner using Glancelytics, you are generally the data controller for analytics data relating to your visitors. Glancelytics acts as your data processor, providing the analytics infrastructure.

You are responsible for ensuring that using analytics on your site is compatible with the laws that apply to you and for updating your own privacy policy to explain your use of Glancelytics.

Section 6

Third-party services

Glancelytics relies on infrastructure providers to run the service, including:

  • Authentication providers such as Clerk
  • Cloud databases such as Postgres and caching such as Redis
  • Payment processors such as Creem
  • Hosting providers such as Vercel

These providers may process limited account or billing information about you as a customer, not your website visitors, to operate the service.

Section 7

Your rights

If you are a Glancelytics customer, you can contact us to:

  • Request access to the account data we store about you
  • Request corrections to your account information
  • Request deletion of your account, subject to legal obligations

Because Glancelytics is designed not to store direct identifiers for your visitors, we are generally unable to identify or act on individual visitor requests without your cooperation as the site owner.
